Environmental Responsibility at Mount Allison University: Mount Allison's new web page "environment mta" and "how green are you?" Video Campaign

Mount Allison recently unveiled a new portion of their website entitled Environment MTA and with it a video competition open to all Mount A students, staff, faculty, alumni, and current prospective and future Mount Allison students that may be of interest to some of you. I have pasted the details below, but as always I cannot ensure that the information provided is up to date and recommend visiting mta.ca to ensure you have current information.

How Green Are You? Video Campaign

We want you to show us.

Mount A is celebrating the Year of the Environment — and for good reason. The whole University community has a lot to be proud of and a lot to show off. Send us a short video (two minutes or less) that highlights what you do to help the environment. The contest is open to everyone — Mount A students, faculty, staff, alumni, future and prospective students, and anyone else. Be creative. Have fun. But think green.

Prizes
Four top prizes
Our judges will choose seven finalists and these top seven submissions will be posted online in March for public voting for a final four winners. The winning videographers will receive cash prizes and a matching gift to the environmental charity of their choice.

Group submissions
Are you part of a high school, youth, or environmental group? Has this got you thinking? As a special incentive for you, the top group submission from youth will have their video featured during the 8th Viewfinders: International Film Festival for Youthas part of their Green Screen Challenge*. Your group just has to be made up of people under the age of 18. Environmental groups are highly encouraged to submit a video; however, only group submissions with members under the age of 18 will be screened at the Viewfinders' Green Screen Challenge. The top group video will receive, for your school or environmental group, a prize of $500 to put towards environmental initiatives, or to sustaining your club, society, or group.

*Youth participants are encouraged to submit to the Viewfinders' Green Screen Challenge. For information and submission guidelines, please see the Viewfinders: International Film Festival for Youth web site.
